Since America's earliest days, she has been a thorn in the pope's side, and he has been her enemy. This nation was settled and founded by Protestants who held a faithfully biblical position regarding, of course, such crucial doctrine as justification but also economics, morality, social policy, the work ethic, criminal law, private property rights, God-ordained spheres of authority, the separation of church and state. Those neo-evangelicals who claim that the Roman Catholic Church is a friend and an ally in the so-called culture wars are strengthening the hand of a tyrant who will destroy our blood-bought liberty and our very nation—spiritually, economically, and morally.
